I am looking to buy a larger Bandsaw I have a Jet 14" that I may sell. I am looking at two Grizzlys one the polar 17" 2hp that looks nice G0513P or the 19" 3hp extreme series with foot brake G0514XF . there is about $470 differance in cost. After just buying a new 8" Jointer the $ 1295 for the 19" is the most I will go . If anyone has one of these ( tell me about what you think of your bandsaw).

I purchased a G0514X2B a couple of months ago and so far I love it. It is the 19" 3HP version with the electric motor brake. The brake stops the wheels in about 2.5 seconds. It has tons of power and with a good timberwolf blade resaws 8" walnut like a knife through butter. I love the finish and assembled the saw myself in about two hours. The cast tabletop is a bear by yourself though. It only took about 10 minutes to clean the top. The saw was shipped without a scratch. I ordered the saw Wednesday AM and picked it up at my local UPS hub 25 miles away Friday morning. Grizzly refunded the lift gate fee since I picked it up at the freight terminal. So far I couldn't be happier. I plan on doing a more detailed review after more use of the saw.

i have a G0513P. i've had it about 10 months now, and so far it's worked flawlessly. like kevin, i put a timberwolf resaw blade on mine (the factory blade is unimpressive). i've resawn 11.5" boards (walnut and maple) with it, and it's super smooth. i've not used a G0514XF, so i don't know if it's worth the extra money. but i can tell you the G0513P is a very good and capable saw.

I have the 17" Extreme series that just predated the Polar Bear series (3 or 4 years old). I feel the extras on the extreme model are definately worth the $. I too use a 1" Timberwolf to resaw and to mill logs. I have had no problems with mine and would buy it again.
