I have the GO654 jointer and I got it from grizzly. It is a smooth runner and works well for me. It has a nice portability with the wheels under it yet it sets down squarely on the floor when running wood over it..

I looked into the Ridgid. Athough it is still on their website, both the manager at Home Depot and an email response from Ridgid said the jointer isn't availible anymore. So ??. I found one on Craigslist. Aside from the rust, it was a smooth, quiet, and accurate machine. I didn't buy because of the offering price and it needed TLC.

Whats nice about the Grizzly is the the built in mobile base. The Ridgid is on an open stand. But people who own the Ridgid rave about them.

One thing people will say about 6" jointers is you wish you had an 8". Selection of lumber from the saw mill is more commonly 7" in width or wider. So keep that in mind

I have the Ridgid, had it for 4-5 years. It's a solid machine, accurate, and does its intended job. It also has very good dust/ waste collection. I'm sure the Grizzly is a gre machine as well, but I would agrees with others 8 inch jointer would be nice to have, if not larger…. But you can do just fine with 6 if that's what budget and space dictate.
