Here’s some pictures of the pencil post bed I made. This is a long time awaited project from my wife. It took me some time but it came together nicely and I really like it. Learned alott and plan on making another in the near future for my mother in law. Were into the rustic look so the paint was scratched up before being clear coated. Its a king sized bed that has 4×4 post, 2×10 bed rails, and sits 3 ft above the floor! I’ve already made some steps so we can climb in and out of it .

Nice looking bed. Why so high off the ground?

Thanks ted, we made it like this because back in the day they used to roll a small childs beds underneath so we were tring to keep the original design.
