When the wife said “WE”RE HAVING A BABY!” we soon decided to start building the room before she got too big. Instead of her helping I locked the door and started building. I made a side table, quilt rack, chaulkboard (not in pic), shelves (with amazing hangers from an antique mall), and the fake wall. I refinished a gliding/rocking chair and a Thomasville dresser I got from the same mall, which was painted a terrible light blue color.
The wall was pretty easy. I mounted 1/8 play to the wall with screws into the studs and then glued it on with a brad nail at each end of the board. Took the entire day but it was worth it.
The wife made the curtains.
The wheel was mounted with a drywall anchor that fit the skewer. The wheel was destroyed for riding purposes years ago and I had it laying around. I posted pictures and cards to the spokes with wooden clothes pins. The wheel still spins and is kinda cool to watch.
