I have a 2 car garage with an extra 1 room addition. My garage was a full mountain bike shop and home brew station until I started making saw dust. I decided in December to start patrolling Craigslist for tools. I now have a decent start at a wood shop. I am a novice but have done A LOT of research on how to’s. I will update my pictures once I get a dust collection system and figure out where all these tools should be. Right now I have to move around everything inorder to start cutting wood. I have a portable 72”W x 30” D table with a 6” tool trough. I use the bench as a run out for my table saw. So far it has worked when cutting Walnut slabs that were 10’ long by 14” wide.
Its a basic start to a decent shop. I would like suggestions on tools and setups please.
I will be putting in flourescent lights that I got off craigslist soon. I have 10 8’ double bulbed direct setups to install, I hate shadows on my work pieces and right now the garage is very dark.
I am also researching dust collections.
Lumber racks will go into the addition.
I will be picking up a 60k BTU
Tools right now.
Delta 9” bandsaw
Delta 12.5” planer
Delta BOSS oscilating sander
Delta belta sander
Grizzly 6-1/8 jointer
Ryobi router with table
Kreg Pocket hole
Delta 12” miter saw
Mastercraft 10” table saw
Delta biscuit joiner
Have I mentioned that I really enjoy Craigslist? I got the Mortiser for free because the guy dropped it on ice and the column bent. But for 30$ I fixed that :) Thanks Jet!
Like I said, its a start :)
