3773 posts in 1123 days Location: Georgia I'm a PhD student who does a little woodworking when I have some spare time, mostly during the summer moths. My dad was a cabinetmaker and I learned a lot from him, but have been trying to figure it out on my own these past few months. Our one-car garage has become my small shop. I have both power tools and hand tools and like to find some sort of balance between the two. I love working working with hand tools, especially vintage tools, because they possess a special charm. I've been building little things around the house and furniture, much in the Arts & Crafts tradition. I've found woodworking to offer a nice change from academic life because it allows me to work with my hands and produce useful and tangible items. -- "hold fast to that which is good" Latest Activity | view all »
