Don’t forget to check free stuff on craig’s list, every day!!! A friend called me yesterday said free wood and woodworking stuff on craig’s list in our town. I called the guy up and asked about the wood, he said he had some he was wanting to get rid of, but said it wasn’t fire wood. I asked what he had and he started saying cherry,.. I said where are you before he could get the next word out. He had a shop and was moving out of stated and had some left over stuff he was giving away. I got a few wide pieces of steamed cherry, regular cherry, few boards of mohagany, walnut, slab of glued up cypress, big roll of mahagony veneer, an old craftsman lathe (needs a motor), Rockler router table, big roll of cherry edge banding, couple of pieces of 3/4 ply with aluminum veneered to it, and some cool looking carved distressed legs. He had some other tools he was selling but I’m pretty loaded up on everything he had. Gave it all away. What a find.
Check your craig’s list everyday!!!!

Nice score… I always check the free section. I got some tick particle board table tops for free once and they made great for tool stands shelves. You got the jackpot though.

Thanks for the reminder. And lucky you. I can’t complain too much though. I just got a working 14” bandsaw for $40 yesterday. Needs some cleaning and tuning up but still a good deal I think.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve never checked the free section before. I live near Toronto, and I just check out free wood. And there’s quite a bit on here from people cleaning out their garages to tree service companies. Awesome.

I check Craigslist almost daily but never look at the free stuff. That’s gonna change. Nice find.

And not just free.. check the craigslist ‘materials’ link. It sometimes has wood at very low cost. Often some stuff someone had drying someplace and inherited it with a house and wants to get rid of it. Sometimes at prices like 20 to 50 cents a bdft. I’ve done that a couple of times.
