I started woodworking since I'm cheap and I can't justify paying so much money for such cheap crap they sell in stores these days. For the same amount of money, I can buy all the tools and supplies and build something just a good - if not better.
I have yet to reach the point where my tool investment has broke even, though I'm not sure it ever will ;)
