Wood shop floor ideas - 16 replies
I need some suggestions for a wood floor in my new shop. My new shop will be a modular structure that has a 3/4” PT floor, structure is 24’W x 36’L. I would like to put a nice wood floor over the plywood. I have a WoodMaster 718 with the 3 sided molding attachment so I plan on using it to make the tongue and groove flooring....

I would like to build a mahogany or walnut entry door for my house. I will be using my Domino for the joints and more than likely will use 8/4 stock milled down. What type of durable finish should I use? I would like to put a few small windows in it but where do I get small insulated glass windows to put in it? Thanks

I have a bunch of 8/4 walnut and cherry live edge slabs air drying with 7 – 9% moisture. The walnut has been stickered for ~18 months and the cherry has been stickered ~12 months. What moisture level would be desirable for 8/4 walnut and cherry?

I got a request from a potential client for a pair if walnut Maloof rockers to be used on a covered porch outside. I need help with a durable finish that will withstand the elements. I use a traditional Maloof finish of poly, tung oil, & BLO, will this work or should I use more of a varnish?

I have a customer that told me he is getting a new Bayou Cypress Ceramic Grill and he is looking to have an islnd built for it. What would everyone suggest for a good outdoor wood to use. I told him that I could go with cedar, mahogany, or IPE. Need something that is rot resistant and will look nice. Thoughts?
