A hand cranked mechanical automata of a cross country skier that I made over two weeks recently.
It is my version of the SKI GUY as instructed by plans in Ken Schweim’s book Wood Automata Projects.
Hope you enjoy this first amateurish attempt at a YouTube posting. Click on the link below to watch the video.

That is a heck of a build. This thing is so smooth running and it just works perfectly. The gears mesh well and, again, you did a heck of a job on this. The youtube vid was fine…...I wanted to get up and start dancing across the room. LOL

Well done sir.
Who was the music artist? Never heard “Waltzing Matilda” done that way.

Bill – Thanks for your comment. That is Barry Crocker singing Australia’s unofficial national anthem. He came to fame in the 1972 Barry (Bazza) McKenzie movie The Adventures of Barry McKenzie. That was the first Aussie movie to to earn a million dollars. It lampioons the cultural gap between Aussies and Poms and also launched Aunt Edna Everage who became the famous alter-ego of Barry Humphries Dame Edna Everage.

Nice one David, seeing the work you have put into this one, I wish now I had looked after the ones I had as toys as a youngster! I’ll look forward to seeing more of your YT videos
