« Part 1: A Beautiful, Blustry Saturday Part 2 of Backwoods Ramblings series Part 3: Twice the Fun »

Not much to report this week. Stunning weather. A fast-paced 4 1/2 hour hike through a slice of WV paradise. A few new trees to photograph and study. A couple of nice branches collected from fallen Beech trees.

I did pause long enough to record this early morning view:

There have been several reported sightings of a bear near my mom’s house, which is very near where I usually hike. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of it in the woods, but I didn’t even see any tracks. Drat!! I may have walked right past it, since there are many trees with large hollows in them.
