Cutting Boards

I was just sitting here listening to bluegrass, smoking some ribs, and wrestling with my warped board problem. Thanks to all that were helping me with my problem. I had made these recently since the weather has gotten a bit more cooperative. These are made from Walnut and Myrtle. I tried to matchbook the pieces, i think they came out ok. I haven’t made a lot of boards so kind of feeling out my niche.

Thanks, to all that have posted project and blogs teaching and inspiring other into building boards or other creations.

Thanks for looking and to all, I hope you get inspired as I have from this site. Have a great day.

Floating Top Table

I want to start by saying this is my first Floater, I have been leaning towards this style for awhile now.
This was commissioned by my Daughter well I was nagged til I finally made her one for school work and Art.

It is 47” x 24.5” x 33” (LxWxH).
Top is made from Maple and Bloodwood.
Skirt is Maple and Cherry
Legs are Cherry with a Bloodwood cap.

Legs are 1.75” square and tapered to 7/8” on all four sides starting @ 8” from the top.
The top is finished with Wipe on Poly. The rest will need to be finished later maybe this summer when the daughter doesn’t need it.

I want to make a drafting style table and may use this table for testing my design out. For now it is functional and my Daughter is happy.

Sorry about the pics I only have my phone for taking pics.

Bookcases

The lady these are for is a book nut and needs lots of storage for them. They are made of Alder and stained with Red Oak and than Wipe on Poly. There is 4 altogether and there is 1 at 3 foot wide, 2 at 4 foot wide, and 1 at 5 foot wide and all are 8 foot tall. They each have 7 shelves, four of which are adjustable but I may need to make a couple more for each.

I really made them with an open look because I like the look but this will be a test to see if this design is as functional as I would like. I am not a huge fan of making bookcases but a lot of people want them. I am glad to get these out of my shop they took up an awful lot of space.

Thanks for looking.
Bill

Hanging Bookcases

I made six of these for a Veterans Center here in Las Cruces/Mesilla. They needed some bookcases for books that Vets could check out. My Dad and I are St Louis Rams fans so I tried to make these look like Rams. Not real sure if they look anything like Rams or not but what the heck. They are 3 feet long and made from Radiata, stained with Red Oak and then Poly Wipe-On. The Center has a lot of wood furniture so I tried to match the color and style. I also did some remodel for them and built a table for their TV and accessories out of 2×4s and 4×4s.

Foyer Table

This was my first table using rough wood, tenon and mortise joinery, and four sided tapered legs. It is made out of cherry and is being used for a computer desk. I also made a second one for family but out of a bit cheaper wood, I think it was Radiata Pine, Lowes finest. I learned a lot from this project.
