Until recently I had never built a single thing out of wood, unless you count piecing together Ikea furniture. But I've always loved working with my hands - fixing things, taking them apart and putting them back together. I've now discovered the world of woodworking after joining Techshop, a membership based workshop with access to a wide variety of tools, including a top notch wood-shop.
I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I started by making a series of cutting boards, both for myself and my friends and family. I hope to learn more and build my skills further by building other housewares and furniture. I've been scanning through many projects on this site for sources of inspiration.
Right now I am based in California, focusing on my creative hobbies and doing a variety of freelance jobs. When I'm not in California I am an ESL teacher in South Korea, teaching elementary and middle school kids.
Reading through the projects and blogs has been a eye-opening, I want to thank the whole community for helping me get started in woodworking.
