Outdoor table inside

My son requested this table to use outside on his patio, when he took home he said it was to nice to put outside. Made from cedar and used Cabot Australian Timber Oil for the finish. Inset plexiglass for the top, there is a removable bottom so that he can change out the topographic maps if he wants. FYI the current map is of Carson(grandsons name) National Forrest – Wheeler Peak (highest peak in NM 13,161 ft), Taos , NM.

These were Christmas (2012) gifts for some of the grand children. They were made from poplar then finished with milk paint. I did not put a finish over the milk paint but I think I need to get them back in the shop and touch up the paint and put a coat of polyurethane on them – any suggestions for cover coat besides polyurethane.

This was my first large project, bunk beds for a couple of my grand daughters This had a large learning curve for me. I understood how to construct it but to execute was the challenge. Started 09/11 and finished 04/12, (had lots of distractions and interruptions along the way) wish I would have logged my time so I would know how many hours it took to build. It is constructed of alder, hardware was from Rockler. Overall I am pleased with the completed project.
