I said in an earlier blog, that I was going out to get root buroughs, from the farmers as they trim their orchards. So far I have about 12 buroughs all walnut….over a ton easily.Thankfully the farmer was kind enough to put them in the truck for me, with his tractor. We were loading some, while he was burning some. These farmers seem to be in a hurry to get rid of them. I could easily have 50 by now if they hadn’t burnt them.
While I was sawing of the roots, I found out my chain saw doesn’t have a guard over the manifold, you know those things REALLY get hot. I got 2 fingers they wont be able to fingerprint for about a month.
I also have an offer for two walnut trees that are 50 years old, but I don’t think my Toyota truck can handle the trunks. Got any ideas? yoda

Portable Sawmill Service. Ta Daaaaaa! (in jumps Ron).
Rocky,
Walnut Burl is my favorite of all woods. Something about it, I don’t know, it just runs in your blood sometimes…
I have cut some huge Walnut Trees by bringing the mill to the tree and making manageable sizes for easy transport.
Cutting burl across the top of the” Pin Knots” will make for great figure.
