Box Joint cutting jig on the RT

Hi all,

Today I built Box Joint cutting jig on the Router Table and have tested it’s accuracy. It is ok.
I bought the bit at MLCS Woodworking and built the jig as suggested (shown in How to video) on their website. I also consulted their technical person on some issues like how to cut workpiece wider than the bit’s cutting height. I suggested to using the collet extension, and it works pretty good.

Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and the jig I built.

Thanks for viewing

Box Joint Cutting Jig on Router Table

This is not my latest project acually.
When I posted my clamping square box, I did mention using box joint cutting jig on the router table. So Jockmike2’s commented why not show it here. I could not find the soft copy in my photo album, thus I shot a few for LJs to view.

I built this jig the very moment (frankly speaking, planned to build) I saw the featured Video & Slides in FW Magazine.com. presented by Guido Henn.

I made first test cut using 1/4” bit on 3/4”T X 3-5/8”W stock. By right I should have 7 nos full 1/4” fingers + 1 half finger (1/8”). But that was not the case. As can be seen in the third pic the last finger was only 1/16”. It took me about 1/2 hour to figure out the mistake. I double checked every part of the jig but not the slider. then I found out that the slider is not snugly fit the miter channel. So to overcome that problem, I constantly put pressure to the right while pushing the jig.

Thank you for viewing and any comment are welcomed.

Tools box - clamping square box

I think all my tools ought to have their own box if they are not easily kept on open shelf or inside drawers. It is easier to organise those boxes than to organise tools loosely. And clamping square is ne of them. So I came up with this clamping square box made from pallet board. At least I have reason to make boxes for practising woodworking.

My kitchen cabinet was partly destroyed by white ants. Engaged a caperter to repair it but he dismaltled everything instead and replaced with the new one. The old doors were reused since they were intact.
A portion of the cabinet (open shelf without door) whiich was supposed to be thrown away seem to be ok. I kept it. Then I installed a pair of new doors, added top crown moulding and gave it a little shellac touch-up and it is there hangging on the wall ready to serve…
