I'm Mike. I've always loved working with my hands. At a very young age I started by disassembling my toys to figure out how they worked. Of course, I always put them back together properly... well most of the time at least.
My passion, recreation, and fulfillment is found in hands-on activities. I feel more satisfaction at the end of a day from creating or fixing something than I do from almost anything else. As you can see, woodworking is a natural attraction for me.
I began my woodworking journey in high school. I apprenticed with a luthier and began learning the trade of guitar building. In addition to making instruments, I make furniture, and absolutely love using a wood lathe. I love using a metal lathe too for that matter...
I believe that my purpose in life is to create. I greatly enjoy sharing my creations with people. Some folks love it, some folks don't get it; that's just fine, we're all different. I hope you enjoy my work. I look forward to reading your comments and thoughts.

In my latest blog post I give my personal opinion of why being a member of the AAW and local chapter makes a difference. I believe that this really applies to any woodworking community. Check out the article on my site: The Importance of a Woo...
Y’all may have seen the ambrosia maple chip-n-dip I posted in the project section a few days ago. Check out the Chip-N-Dip Finished blog post to see how I went about the process. This is just a very coarse blog post, a more in depth writ...
I’ll walk you through the steps to make a wooden business card holder like this one. Choose what ever wood you’d like and follow along. A few passes through the table saw and a quick spin on the lathe is all it takes. I hope...
