Why you haven't heard to much from me! Irma

Just letting all my buddies know why I haven't been posting on doing to much in the way of making comments.
My buddy pottz posted a blog about what happened to us here in Florida and how the hurricane effected us.
This is a link to pottz blog and here you can read about it and see some photos I posted.

Good to see your smiling face again. You and Carol went through a lot and I'm glad you have things under control. Time for a vacation. Swing by over here, we only had about 1/2'' rain in 5 weeks.
I see carol is giving you instructions.

Hey Dave! We are A-OK my friend! But I was sweating bullets for a while.
Only 1/2" of rain in 5 weeks.. Wow! is everything still alive there. Makes me thirsty just thinking about it.
I hope we don't see any more rain for a while! LOL!

Tony, the grass is burning up, the weeds are coming back, the trees are turning and already started to loose leaves. The lake has dropped 12''. But hey I''m not complaining. LOL. I'll take this any day compared to what you Floridians and Texans went through.

I think we stole Texas Thunder. No pun intended. LOL! The new is all about Florida now and I don't here anyone complaining about gas prices anymore.
Abut that Moringa tree, I'm saving the trunk. Maybe I can make something out of it when it dries out. It's only about 6 or 7 inches in diameter so I won't be getting too much wood from it.

6 to 7 inches, perfect for a lathe project. LOL. I wonder how it will dry out. Seal the heck out of those ends. I could see a couple bowls out of that. I'll have to look it up in my tree to lumber book.

Tom, I have a little chain saw that goes on the end of a weed eater motor. Not very big at all for big jobs. When we lived in MA I had a nice Stihl chain saw but got rid of it when we move to FL.

Tony, really Glad to see you are alright. Any big damage to the house or shop? I remember seeing pics of Greg's shop and hearing his story from Louisiana… Yikes.

Can't wait to see some more of your work once things get back to normal. Best of luck

Thanks Tooch!
No serious damage here at all. We dogged a bullet for sure. My two car garage is my shop and I had our truck and tools all in there with the hurricane brace on the big door. The only thing we had happen in the house was two leaks, one in the dinning room and one in the master bathroom.
I remember seeing Greg's also.. not fun!

Looks like you fared pretty good and judging by what I saw on the news I figured you may be in big trouble .
Stay well and wish you all the best .

Thanks Klaus,

I was afraid to go out and look after the wind and driving rain stopped. I saw shingles on our walkway and that tree uprooted and our neighbors flashing swinging in the breeze clanking against her house in the night darkness; It sounded so eerie.

I got to seal the ends of that log and put it up someplace out of the way for a few years. Do you think I should cut it up and dry it or dry it the way it is?

Thanks Jeff,
Watching the meteorologist trying to determine the path of Erma as it was approaching Florida was nerve racking in it self Jeff. But all is well and now it looks like New England is in the cross hairs!

Thanks Robert,
The truck is out and I can't wait to get back in the shop making stuff.
But I have a few things to finish up in the yard first. My garden timbers are shot to hell and need replacing.
Today I had to take my solar panel apart; somehow water got into it. I had to remove the glass and dry it our and reseal it. Soon I'll be making my work shop hum once again hopefully!

Wow! Pottz you didn't take long to step in! I'm feeling the luv now! LOL! I think Rob is trying to inspire me! Or maybe teasing me! LOL! But I think he's a good guy!

Come to think of it I was in the shop cleaning off all the calking off my solar panel with a wire brush in my electric drill. :)
