I'm a retired Auto worker originally from Massachusetts and now living in St Augustine FL.
My first woodworking experience was when I attended Norwood High School back in the 60's. Soon after I learned how to use some of the tool's in the school shop I was hooked on woodworking. I just wanted to stay in the shop and skip all the other classes, well they wouldn't let me do that..!
I've tried my hand at many woodworking projects from cabinets to making gazebo's, bedroom suit, tables and many other projects over the years. Some of which are posted here on LJ's.
Some of the tools I have are a Ridgid 10" table saw, 13" Ridgid thickness planer , Hitachi 8 1/4" chop saw, Grizzly 14" band saw, Delta 6" joiner planer, Delta drill press , Triton 2 1/4 HP router, 2 Craftsman 1/4 " routers, 1 Porter Cable 2 1/4 HP router, 1 Ridgid 1 HP router. Ridgid oscillating sander. I built a Horizontal Mortise slot machine using woodgears.ca plans. I have many other hand tool. My 2 car garage is my work shop it's a bit too small but I manage to get things done. I'm the type of guy that can't wait to get my project finished once I get started, no procrastination going on with me whatsoever!

4 years ago I built a deck out back. I had to pre-drill a few holes to keep the end of the boards from cracking when I put the screws to them. While drilling the holes using a counter sink bit I broke the drill bit in one of the boards, I just lef...
I was putting a finish on a headboard I was working on and just out of the blue I thought what if I rubbed some Salad bowl finish (bees wax and mineral oil) on some raw sanded pine and then let it dry and spray it with lacquer. My common sense tol...
A Hypodermic Needle is the best tool to apply glue between a chip, crack, under veneer or in a joint. A funny thing happened when I was cleaning the diluted glue out of the tube and needle. I was out in the yard using my garden hose to squirt wate...
