At least here in Germany stores are often offering leftover packaging material to their customers to package their goods. Often there are wooden creates which were used to transport fruits or vegetables. The bads ones I store for the winter for burning, the good ones make fine storage boxes:

I use them to group material for the projects I am working on or keep all parts belonging to a jig. When the creates have similar sizes they allow easy stacking:

Perfect example of re-purposing throw-away stuff… a man after my oen heart!

That reminds me, I have a big off cut bin to clean out. You seem to have that problem sorted out.

depends, more than five of the bigger crates contain really useless scraps from this year . They will burn next winter – and then I will have to decide about all the empty crates:-)
