I just recently left my job as senior shipwright on USS Constellation to oversee the construction of her ship's boats. I'm working on the 3rd one, which is whaleboat replica built to the original Navy specs from 1854. I'm now the boat project director at the Frederick Douglass/ Issac Myers Maritime Museum.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I love this site, I hope you will enjoy it too.

Look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

I visited the USS Constellation about 23 years ago. I really enjoyed it and have kept the handouts and drawings that I got that day. Thanks for helping keep this piece of history accessible to the public.
