Then added the wide band an the narrow one at the bottom for balance. The inner tray is a slider. The box is about ten by twelve inches and is of sepele and black walnut. Thanks for taking a look…........;-j

I didn’t even know what a pie safe was until Charles did his pie safe build. It is an Eastern thing, you know. They are collected new and old. It is of White Oak primarily plus some ash and pine inside and back (for flavour). The drawer pulls are original 1850-ish. Non-urathane oil finish. Ready to start on one in Walnut for them. Thanks for looking…......... PS, The tins are actually copper and were stripped of their lacquer and patina applied with Potash-Sulferated. Lacquer was removed by boiling the copper in a solution of baking soda and water…............;-J

The wenge in the legs is simply inlayed into dados. I used this combination on a previously listed hall table and find it hard to beat for a contemporary look. The Sepele is a thick vaneer on Baltiic Birch which I believe makes a safe situation for the mitered type joints on the top edges. Thanks for looking….;-J

This project was completed before joining LJs, but wanted to put it out there. These are large marbles and the case is about 13” tall. It is red oak and the glass is typical picture glass. The glass slides into saw kerfts. The project was as much an experiment as anything since I didn’t know for sure if the idea of placing each marble into a dimple would actually work. As you can see, it did work. The dimples are 3/8” twist drill starts. Before placing the front glass into the stand, the marbles are placed in each level one for each dimple. When the stand is placed upright each marble finds it’s own dimple almost with no coaxing! Ths was fun stuff so thought I’d share it. Thanks for looking…...........;-J

I’m guessing it is a plant stand..The top was made by cutting a board lengthwise,(half it’s length, not width) then gluing up the pieces in reverse causing the waving look. The wood is white oak and wenge. Thanks for looking….;-J
