I have been doing small projects since my wife bought me my first power tool, a Craftsman radial arm saw in the 1980s.
In 2002 my wife attended a one year course in watch and clock repair in Columbia, PA. When she finished the course she invited me to attend a seminar in Williamsburg, VA on tall case clocks. As I sat in the audience and watched to story unfold of these craftsmen making clock cases by hand I realized this is something I can do.
I have spent the last five years building my woodshop and practicing joinery and construction. I did a family treasure chest I will post soon. I joined the Mason Dixon Woodworkers and them members have been fantastic teachers. I owe a lot to Bill Jefferson and Karson Morrison.
I hope in the next year to build my first tall case clock which my wife will install the movement.
I have reserved WWW.carriagehouseclocks.com and hope to use it when I have developed my skills to a level I think people will be interested in.
