Hi, I finally took some pics of my progress. What can I say…........I am slow, but I am hoping by Wednesday to get all of my bottom cabinets done enough to get them secured to the wall and get my countertops ordered. I still have 3 more cabinets to make. I have a raised panel that goes on the side of the refridgerator with a cabinet over top, and then I have 2 cabinets that I cannot install untill my counter top goes in, they fit on each side of the stove and the cabinets fit down on the counter top. The cabinets are made of hickory. I designed the cabinets and then I hired a local cabinet maker to make my cut list up. I didn’t pay attention to how they were put together untill after I started putting them together. These are the first set of kitchen cabinets I have ever made, and I gotta tell you. I don’t like the way they they go together. I would most definately go with European style if I ever made another set.

The Hickory is beautiful!

Love the two upper corner units and the swing out shelves by the dishwasher.

I really like the character in the wood. They look great to me. What is it about the assembly of the cabinets that you dislike so? Looking forward to seeing the completed project. Keep on keeping on!

Wow! The character of the wood is gorgeous. I like the way it goes with the floor. What about the European style would make them easier? A couple books I’ve read say that European style would be less strong and more precise and therefore harder to make.

You’re making great progress!

Hickory is a beautiful wood for kitchen cabinets, you have a great design and lay out. The neat thing about Hickory is somewhere in the wood you will find an animal face. Have you found it yet?

That is one very nice kitchen. The cabinets are just beautiful! The wood is stunning and the floor complements the cabinets. You should be very proud of your work. I am looking forward to a picture of the completed kitchen.
