...meanwhille, back at the lathe…. I’ve refined the prototype!
I’m starting to like this one. Now i just gotta be able to make a good cross for the top. It’s pretty small. I downsized the pieces a little, the king is a little over 3 inches tall.
I’m starting to get excited about this project..more to come

Thanks for posting…I’ll be watching your work closely. I’m working on veneering a chess board and will need some pieces. If you don’t mind, I just might use your pictures as a guide on turning some of my own.

it sounds like you are really enjoying this creative process.
Is this your first piece being designed?

I don’t mind at all if you use my pics for ideas.
yep, first ever try at turning chess pieces. i was not happy at all with the bishop i first carved in part 1. I think, with some minor tweaks this will be the main design.
The knights…...........hmmm…......ummm…... Learn to carve, or send em to one of the Rogers.LOL
