It’s been a busy couple days here. We have conditionally sold our place, and I’ve been selling off my old tools and picking up the new ones. I just picked up my new sawstop PCS and my laguna 8” jointer
I haven’t set things up yet, but already I’m thinking about building cabinets for the shop, the dust collector and its many pieces, and all that jazz…
But, on another note, today was a mixed happy/sad event. I sold my table saw today. It was a rigid 10” portable table saw. It wasn’t great, but it saw me through a lot of projects and was my first ever table saw.
With this saw, I made a lot of my first projects, and many of my first mistakes. It’s a wonder that I didn’t get a major injury with this thing, when I think back to the mistakes I made! I also sold my bench top jointer. The happy part of my parting with the saw is that the guy that bought the saw and jointer was just getting into woodworking. He didn’t know much about dimensioning lumber or proper saw safety, so I was more than happy to give him an impromptu lesson before leaving with the saw. Not that I’m an expert, but I know more than someone who doesn’t have a saw. It was great to see his excitement in the possibilities of what he could create with these tools. Very cool.
So, goodbye old saw – you were good to me, never bit me, and helped me a lot. May your next owner have as much luck. Hellooooo sexy sawstop and jointer… Let’s party.
