no previous part Part 1 of wake up and celebrate the real meaning series no next part

I heard a story of a woman who was Christmas shopping with her two children. After hours of hearing them asking for everything they saw, she finally made it to the elevator.

She was feeling overwhelming pressure—to go to every party, to decorate the house festively, to cook the perfect holiday meals and treats, to buy perfect gifts, and to respond to everyone who sent a card.

There was a crowd in the elevator, but she pushed her way into the car, dragging her kids and bags of stuff. When the doors closed she stated, “Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up and shot.”

From the back of the car everyone heard a calm voice respond, “Don’t worry we already crucified him.” For the rest of the trip down the elevator it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

This story is a reminder to me to keep the One who started this whole Christmas thing in my every thought, deed, purchase, and word. How about you?

All to often do we let the true meaning/origin of many “holidays” go forgotten due to today’s commercialism and festivities. It’s just another tool that satan uses to blind us. Thanks for the reminder. God bless you all.

Thank you for this story, I was starting to feel no one I see in stores and in public remembered what this is all about. God Bless you all believers.

I have really never liked Christmas much much. Over the years I would much rather be deployed than be in the US for Christmas. The meaning has been forgotten and twisted and perverted in every way.
