I am an engineer by trade but woodworking is my hobby. My small shop is located in Sonoma County, CA.
I like to make furniture and unique items constructed from recycled wine barrels and wood wine boxes, mostly for my own use and for friends. I sell a few pieces once in a while, but just don't have the time to spend in the shop to make a lot. I love to work with recycled wine barrels because they have a unique character, they have beautiful oak wood, they are inexpensive, and it is ecologically friendly.
The barrels once held wine so the bottom of the staves are stained a deep ruby red. There may be wine splash stains on the stave from when wine was 'racked' between the barrels or when it was 'thieved' from the barrel for tasting. There may be stains, nicks, or gouges in the stave caused from the barrel hoops or from the manufacturing process.
Feel free to send me any questions or comments.
