windfall:

I couldn’t get the pictures to enlarge, but I think your floor is fabulous! In about six weeks I’ll be just a couple of hundred miles East of you in the U.P.

Now this is a shop I would enjoy working in!!! I have to agree with 8iowa that the pictures in the post are too small to tell any details but the link you provided was wonderful. I really like the floor treatment and the knotty pine wall covering, cabinetry and trim give the shop a really nice look. I used to not worry about what shop furniture looked like since it was just for the shop. But I have come to the conclusion that one can put both form and function into shop fixtures and cabinetry. It just makes for a more pleasant working atmosphere.

I like the miter saw bench that you added to your shop. That looks like it will control the dust from this tools which is notoriously difficult to do. With a refrigerator and tv in there all you need is a bed and bathroom and you would never have to leave the shop!! :) I would enjoy working in a shop like this.

This is one of the nicest shops that I have had the privilege of touring. Thanks for the pictures and I really enjoyed the tour.

Great shop. Boy, I would love to be able to look out at the lake while doing a favorite woodworking project. You should be proud with this, well thought out. Your home and shop looks to be a haven.

Thanks to all—-I’m going to try and get a few more things done over the next few weeks as far as getting some electricity distributed around the island and maybe getting some compressed air available in a more convenient way. I’ll try to post some more pictures sometime when I get organized. Yeah, like that’s goin’ to happen soon.{8-)

I’m out here now, changing ballasts in a couple of light fixtures of all things!!! The doggone parts cost almost as much as just getting a new fixture! Oh well, the music is playing, the dogs taking a nap and spring training has started!
