I’ve been wanting to add a drum sander to my tool arsenal so I’ve been searching CL regularly. There hasn’t been much to pick from lately, but this one popped up recently. I just sold a Rikon 10-325 bandsaw so Ive got a little cash in my pocket but this sander is about twice...

McLean's zig-zag cutting boards - 0 replies

McLean, I used your tutorial on my 2nd attempt at endgrain cutting boards, ( my 1st was TWW video) and it turned out better than expected. I cut my strips extra long so I ended up with 2 boards, large and small. The small board was nice to experiment with “new to me” techniques. I ran both end-grain boards thru my back-up planer (Ridgid TP1300) ...

G1023SL won't run - 5 replies

Went out to use my table saw this morning, plugged it in , hit the start button and nothing. Checked breaker it wasn’t tripped. Started my air compressor on the same circuit and it ran fine. Pulled the mag switch cover, found a red reset button, pushed it but it won’t reset, it stays out. The saw was used about 2 weeks ago with no...

finish for antique factory cart - 11 replies

Just finished completion of my latest factory cart restoration and I’m looking for the right finish for the wood. It’s hard maple about 100 yrs old. I’ve got the color I want, just want to add a rich look. I applied a homade danish oil but it turned out way to dark so I sanded it off. I’ve also tried poly and wipe-on poly...

Bench top tool workstation - 5 replies

Found a deal on a new EB4424 ridgid sander on CL saturday. Brought it home and decided to mount it and some other benchtop tools to an old metal cart I had sitting in the shop. I’m tired of moving them around. Don’t know how user friendly it will be yet but with the onboard vacuum and perhaps a few more mods I think...

Cman 113 table saw tune-up question - 7 replies

I’m trying to get my blade parallel to the miter slot using a dial indicator and a jig on my miter gauge. rikon 10-325 tension spring assembly movement? - 2 replies

While doing a tuneup on my 10-325, I noticed the upper wheel had a 1/8” wobble front to back. Looking further, it is actually the sping assembly the wheel bolts into , moving. Is this normal with the blade removed and the tension released? Doesnt seem right to me but I’m no bandsaw tech. Any info would be welcome. Thanks Dave

roughsawn green oak - 13 replies

A local sawmill sells roughsawn oak @ .80/ bd.ft., Is this something I could air dry and build cabinets with in a year or so? If possible, seems better than paying $2.+ at the hardwood dealer for kiln-dried stuff.
