Drywall 2 - 6 replies

Well yesterday the drywall was delivered, today the three man crew showed up and all the boarding was done in ten hours. Tomorrow the tapers show up, going to have to build a pile of stuff to pay for all this.

Well this has been the busiest year ever for me. Between working on my shop and working away from home for three to four weeks at a shot, I am almost played right out. Progress has be slow but things are coming together.Had my insulation and vapor barrier inspected today, and now ready for drywall. They will hopefully start in the next few days....

New shop brick's - 7 replies

Well things are zooming along. Today the siding applicator arrived and trimmed around the shop door openings. so the mason could start laying bricks. Then the windows showed up and lastly the concrete finishers showed up and cut the control joints in the slab. Tomorrow the brick work should be all finished.

Well the roof is done and now working on the 5” concrete slab. The floor on the old foundation was cut so that the new slab can tie nicely into it. Well the boys showed up yesterday and started the roofing, today they showed up again and almost finished, but it got a little warm and they had to shut it down, as the shingles were starting to stick together in the bundles. They are doing a fine job.

Got the trusses up - 3 replies

Well a little more progress today, got the trusses up. Tomorrow the valley kit, gable end ladders and 2×6 facia. On Monday we should have it sheeted and the shingles will go on soon after. Well the trusses showed up at 3:00PM. today and are hopefully going to get installed tomorrow. I took the advise of fellow LJ’S and installed my receptacle box’s at 53” to the bottom of the box and spaced 4’ apart. Bought 150 meters of 12/2 wire for a start, let’s see how far it goes.

Well a two man framing crew showed up at my place at 5:30 AM. They framed, sheeted and braced the wall’s for trusses and were out of my yard by 2:30 PM. That’s pretty impressive if you ask me. Now comes my job of trying to figure out how I will lay out my big power tools, so I can come up with a plan for the wiring.

Well back on track, the contractor was working at another job for a week. Everyone showed up this morning, installed the styrofoam insulation on the inside of the concrete wall, backfilled compacted and started laying out the wall plates.
