Location: Bainbridge Is., Washington
Website:
I live on Bainbridge Island in the state of Washington. I am married and have two wonderful children ages 16 and 20. Bainbridge is a thirty minute ferry boat ride from Seattle where I commute to work as an employment and commerical litigation attorney.
Growing up my father always had a work bench though the output from it was minimal (not to say non-existent!) Despite its primarily ornamental function, my Dad's workbench must have exerted some influence on his offspring as my brother and I have been compulsive project doers for years. 10 years ago, after watching too many episodes of This Old House, and despite the fact that I had absolutely no experience doing anything of the kind and was a full-time lawyer, I embarked on a remodeling project that included adding 800 square feet and entirely re-doing the main floor of our house. Three years later it was pretty much done and came out fairly well if I do say so myself.
I have not done a lot of fine wood working but in an effort to stave off urges to start another remodel am starting to try my hand at it instead. I moved into a new house last year and I am in the process of setting up my shop in the garage.
Woodworking gives me a chance to be creative (I have previously done some pottery and painting) and is a nice way to relax.
I have never been part of any on-line community and am happy to be able to "meet" people from all over the country with similar interests.

weekender you probably should post this question in the forum titled Woodworking Hardware, Tools and Accessories. You would be more likely to get an answer to your question there.
