This is a very small but serviceable workshop in my garage. Per my agreement with my wife, I fit everything one side of the garage and leave enough room for her to park her car on the other side. Luckily she drives a small Toyota and I have managed to fit a lumber rack and a band saw against the wall on “her” side of the garage/shop.
Like many of you I daydream of having a wood shop of my own that is spacious, well appointed, and air conditioned. I live in Tempe, Arizona and during the summer the temperatures are intolerably hot in a non air conditioned space. After enduring one of the hottest summers on record (over 30 days with temps over 110) it is finally cooling off enough to spend a few hours in the shop.
I am still a novice and don’t have much money for spending on tools, but I am learning how to get by with the basics and still manage to make some decent pieces for my home and for friends and family.

Wayne, it looks like you have put together a pretty nice looking shop. It is a shame that your wife has to take up space in your shop with her vehicle but if it keeps peace in the family then it is a small sacrifice. :) I have often said that I am glad we added a third garage in our basement when we built our home that I converted into my shop. I can say without a doubt that I know who would come out on the losing end if I had to ask my wife to give up her garage so that I could have some shop space.
Thanks for the tour. I enjoyed taking a look at your shop.

A lot of people seem to have that same arrangement with the wife. It must be in the wedding vows and I missed it. Nice work benches….............

You have a really nice shop and we hope that you will post more often.
