soft maple - 13 replies
hello i am having a soft maple cut down next week and was wanting to know if it is good for much like does it turn well on a lathe can it be carved using hand chisels or just anything ? i just hate to see wood being burned if it can be usefull and i havent worked with this before so i am asking the great woodworkers here on lumberjocks to give ...

i have placed a question in the blog area asking for help on buying a new 4 jaw chuck and then i thought i would try looking here to see if anyone here on LJ has an extra one or one they dont use any more and would be willing to sell it at a decent price or even if you could help me decide what is the best way to go with a new one here is a link...

hello i am just starting up my pen turning workshop and i have everything i feel i need but the one thing i have been looking at are the pen presses and as i have seen alot of people use clamps of differant types besides the real pen press and i have heard that by useing differant types of presses besides the pen press you can mess up a pen alot...
