I had an empty room in my basement approximately 19’ long by 13.75’ deep which is turning into a nice woodworking shop. I know it isnt a large space, but it will suit my needs perfectly since I am only a hobby woodworker and enjoy woodworking for fun not for profit. But I am a bit of a perfectionist and I like to have everything set up perfectly. Of course that will change over time, but here is my plan and some pics of the before and the evolution….

Thanks guys. My son, Ian, loves being in the shop working with me. He has his own set of plastic tools and I have given him a small handplane with the blade removed and a small gents saw with the teeth filed off… he loves it! Here are a few pics of what it looked like when I started the endeavour. ?.!https://s3.amazonaws.com/lumberjocks.com/msjlclr.jpg!

Very messy, I know. Thats why the plan and reorganization. In my defense, we did just buy the place in October and this was the room that everything got put that didnt have a home or that we didnt want to unpack. But, now I have claimed the space for a proper shop :) .

So, after some blood and sweat (no tears… I’m a lumberjock after all) I have reached a satisfactory set up point in my shop…. a point where I can get to the fun stuff… Woodworking! :) ;)

Here are some fresh pics….

I know it’s not set up according to my layout plan, but I haven’t built my wood storage rack/system yet so this set up gets me up and running.
