i was making some more boxes yesterday using the same sled i have been using for all my miter cuts. when i layed the pieces on the bench to start taping them i saw most of the cuts were convex is shape as much as a 1/16 gap at each end. cked the fence was still square to the blade ? i had to recut 6 of the 10 boards with very small cuts to clean...

minwax and others are going to water based products i just picked up the 3 last cans of oil based at the local lowes was about 4 dollars off the regular price not a bad deal. i am not sure if water based will raise the grain or not. but i am not ready to find out

removing paste wax for refinishing - 9 replies

i need to remove some johnson’s paste wax for some boxes i made. i see that as they are handled a lot the surface smoges a lot so i need to keep wiping them off. i want to redo the finish with 3 or 4 coats of shellac sanding between coats down to 1200 grit and call it done thanks
