I have been in the US Navy for almost 20 years an a Machinist’s Mate, which means a boiler operator and turbine mechanic. Last Monday I received the final approval for my retirement that will be the end of December. So the challenge is trying to find a set of plans for a nice shadow box. I am a woodworker and I should build one myself instead of buying one. If anyone has anyplans or tips on how to make one it would be appreciated.

Not much help on the shadow box, I’ve seen a few on here and other sites. Congratulations on the upcoming retirement did that from the army 17 years ago, thank you for your service.

I don’t have any plans either, but there are LOTS of examples here on LJ’s that you could duplicate or modify to fit your needs. You could also send a PM to a LJ who made one you like and possibly get a copy of their plan. This is a very helpful group of woodworkers. Thanks for your service shipmate.

1st of all, Thank you for your service. 2ndly, very nice humidor. You shouldn’t have any problems making a shadow box. It’s merely a picture frame that is enclosed with glass or plexi, or similar stuff. Can’t wait to see it when you get it done. Work safe, keep makin dust
