« Part 4: Beaver 6200 9" Table Saw - Restoration Done Part 5 of Table Saws series no next part

Made a random find on Kijiji near a small town I work in. Was only $35 for a 1.5 HP motor off of a grain auger. It is a bit weathered but still has all its power to give. It is also a brute and weighs in at nearly 65lbs!!!

Do you think that 1.5 HP is too much for this 9” saw? With something this powerful I am moving into a full cabinet saws power range.

If it is too much power I can probably get enough money at the scrap yard if I tear out the coils and scrap it in clean parts to get a new 1 HP motor….

Great find, I would think the power of this motor wold be acceptable, just ensure you meet the RPM of the blade
