Believe it or not I’ve survived these past nearly six months in the new space with only two open outlets! It has been a completely trying experience with the back and forth of plug ins and then outs as I’ve moved from equipment to equipment. It has, however pushed me to do more at once and plan ahead more. I’ve learned new tricks and have been forced to build a crosscut sled instead of relying on my miter saw so often. I’m appreciative for the results of this electrical fact but I’m also ecstatic that I now have new outlets to NOT have to plug anything else in over and over again!

For anyone that hasn’t installed the new GFCI outlets let me tell you now that the wire locations absolutely matter. I found that out the hard way with me and a general contractor working to get these three outlets tied in. Already I’ve been over the moon having more options for equipment and less danger of not having cords strewn across the shop.

So lastly to all the electricians out there wiring new homes, please for the love of everyone ignore that idea that homeowners don’t really need outlets all over the garage. Please.
