Location: Ontario

My experience with woodworking is mainly with house renovations and building a new house in retirement years. I seem to do fairly well building kitchen and bathroom cabinets, laying ceramic tiles /stone, plumbing, drywall, and electrical work, etc.. But I have to admit I struggled for many years to get to furniture making. I’m self-taught and use magazines and the Internet to learn techniques and solve most woodworking problems. I’m a power tool woodworker; have yet to learn how to use a wood plane.

My 300 sq. ft. shop is in the basement of our new house. I have basic tools such as a Delta Contractor’s Saw, a small band saw, drill press, work bench, spray paint equipment and a load of portable power tools. I hope to buy a planer and a jointer in the future. I recently installed a dust collection system after my shop vac bit the dust.

I’m presently building consoles for each side of the fireplace. I will post pics of my projects and small shop soon.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

You do nice work. I look forward to seeing more. I too am in home renovations and also have a small room in my basement for a workshop.
Your comment about the Claro walnut boot is most appreciated. Thank you.
