« Part 3: Disk Sander Mods Part 4 of Scroll Saw Diaries series no next part

I carved out some shop time this weekend and worked on wood rather than leather for a change.
I fired up the scroll saw and made a campy little pro-Canadian flag in preparation for July 1st
It will hang over my garage.
My daughter came up with the lettering location. Not so sure I like the D….space inside is too big, kids say I used cap and small letters together OH WELL
I realize what incredible talent the LJ scroll workers have when trying to negotiate the small curves and details of this simple project.
I will post the final when I get the mounting done on the weekend and put it up.
Cheers, Scott

Although I admit I cannot fully appreciate your Canadian holiday, I’m glad you got shop time with your daughter. And, you both did a very nice job.

Glad to see you are still including your children in your projects. I am 89 with 6 children and the rewards have been coming for years about shop time together. Keep it up.. Roy

Thanks everyone.
Roy, my kids won’t leave me alone in my shop…..and that is a good thing. I consult on many design, color and brainstorming ideas with both of them. Kids have a different, fresh way of looking at things that can give you new ways of thinking about a project.
Ya Thomas, it does look kinda cake like.
It is a thin 3 ply Baltic Birch (from lumber store scrap sale bin) with a really nice face side and ugly shiny back surface. It painted up well even with me being lazy and not white priming and re-sanding before spray painting red. It has been a long work week before a weeks holiday for me starting Friday. I will do my darnedest to post a pic of the thing hung up!
Cheers, Scott
