I was cruising craigslist and found someone selling a powermatic 8” helical head jointer and 20” helical head planer for almost 1/2 what they are new. No pictures but guy says they were purchased 2010. If anyone’s in the market may be a good deal, thought I’d pass it on.Jointerhttp://easternshore.craigslist.org/tls/4902...

Sawstop 30" Premium Fence For Sale from a PCS (sold) - 10 replies
I am upgrading to the 52” fence system on my saw, finally have a bigger shop that allows it. The fence is in good shape, no damage to the rails or fence. The extension table has visible scuff marks in it, the downfall of a shiny black work surface, but it is not damaged. I have maybe done 3 or so projects through it since I purchased it...

So I have been having issues getting good cuts on my bosch 4100, mainly when using a miter guage or sled and I finally figured out why, my table is crowned so the miter guage and sleds will change angle to the blade as it goes across the table. For the most part I didnt notice it as most of my projects were small boxes. Its now too late to ret...

So I am just starting to figure out how to do hand cut dovetails. I have a leigh jig and have never used it. I picked it up for peanuts, which is the only reason I have it, and if I ever have to do a ton of drawers it will be handy. For doing small boxes and a few drawers I want to learn how to do them by hand. I have been diving into hand t...

4 years and 4 plys later - 1 reply
So I am building a tool cabinet to go under my newly built, partially finished workbench. I am using whatever wood and plywood I have on hand. I found some maple/birch plywood that I got from HD 4 years ago for a project around the house. I looked at it and noticed it had 11 layers. This got me thinking how many did the new sheet of maple pu...

So I frequently cruise the local Craigslist looking for a table saw that has a Riving knife and cast iron. I am currently using the Bosch contractor saw which is a nice saw for what it is. When I got it i had the intention of breaking down the shop after I was done for the day so that a car could go in the garage. That plan lasted all of on...

Bugs in lumber - 2 replies
So I went and picked up about 60 bdft of cherry from a gentlemen that is selling all of his wood stock. I got home and while unloading it noticed some of the wood was spongey and crumbled along the edge of the wood. I also noticed little holes in the sides of some of these boards. My first thought was either termites or powderpost beetle. So...

I asked for a new table saw for christmas and was gifted a Bosch 4100. Now I did ask for this saw as my previous wood projects all dealt with remodelling and using a crappy plastic craftsman table saw. So upon receiving the saw I set everything up, adjusted what few things I could find needed adjusting threw a new freud blade on and went to to...
