WOW! I am overwhelmed, honored, and truly humbled by all the response to this contest. Lumberjocks is a wonderful community made of some of the world’s finest workers of wood. I feel blessed to be a part of it.
The quality of responses is just another example of the creativity this community represents. It is evident a lot of thought and consideration went into the majority of entries. Picking the winner was one of the most difficult decisions that I have made in a long time. I wish I could give a prize to each and every one of you.
I hope, with your help, that I can continue to grow as an artist, a worker of wood, and most importantly – a person. The inspiration and feedback received from this community has been the nucleus of my growth.
I have chosen Aine, submitted by Cyan3y3z. The mystic of the Celtic goddess really moved me. I found myself wondering into her world, a beautiful place far away.
Thank you all!
Joe

Congratulations! Cyan3y3z,
A very good choice Trifern!!!
If you’re like me your going to hate parting with Aine.
Now you have a repertoire of names for some of your future turnings.

Congrats Cyan and thanks Joe for the contest, it was fun. Like I said I have never seen anyone come so far so fast. You can really go places with your talent. I wish only the best for you in the future keep on turning buddy. PopularWW had a contest in their woodcentral piece, with a piece shaped like one of yours with the outside looking like leather and a black cap on it, it won the contest. This piece stands on it’s own though Joe. Piece. mike

Congratulations to Cyan and to I also thank Joe.
What great fun we all had watching the contest unfold. The imagary that each of the submitted names created as it applied to the wonderful piece of craftsmanship were a treat to read.
I would love to see something like this evolve into an continuing event. In apprecieation for their win and kewl Lumberjock award, perhaps each contest winners could submit thier own works for the next give away?

Joe,
I am overwhelmed with joy and excitement that Aine is going to come to my house. She is perfect. Your generosity is deeply appreciated. To be granted the opportunity to have a high quality piece like this in my home is well beyond words for me right now.
A soul deep “Thank you” to you Joe. May the beauty in your heart continue to flow through you hands.

Here is a “TIP of the HAT” to Cyan3y3z and to you Joe.
Running this little contest was a real delight. You had a hard choice to make, but after going over the posts, I must admit you made the right one…... Well Done.
