Gary's tray shut down the contest?

Blog entry by trifern posted 484 days ago 758 reads 0 times favorited 21 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Is it just a coincidence or did the Lumberjock Summer tray contest shut down as soon as Gary posted his tray?

I threw mine in the trash when I saw Gary’s posted.

Seriously, I hope he decides to do the blog on it (are you listening Gary?)

Yea, I hope he does the blog also. I always learn a ton from Gary.

It’s just weird when you go to the contest page and click on the entries, the page errors out. Probably just a coincidence.

I think that there should be 3 catagories for these contest. 1-for masters, 1-for novice, and 1- for Gary.

From the rules:
Entry opens on July 1, 2008 at 6 AM CDT and ends on July 31, 2008 at 3 PM CDT.
Voting opens on August 1, 2008 at 6 AM CDT and ends on August 7, 2008 at 3 PM CDT.

Is it possible that they shut down the entry page and will set it up for voting tomorrow?

I’m convinced! Gary is either an alien who helped us humans engineer and construct the 7 wonders of man made world, or was involved in the design and construction of the miraculous staircase(faith/beliefs not implied). A true master & geniuses, made evident by uninhibited willingness to share and teach. I will always be in awe, he has taught me more than he’ll ever know.

hahaha GaryK: our hero!

I’m sure that we’ll see a few more fantastic trays posted before our 3 PM Central deadline.

(and I posted my tray after seeing his entry).

You have to wait a while for the add to change and the contest will show up.

Martin is out of town I noticed the error as well. However I do not believe that anyone shut down the entry page. Hopefully everything will work out fine.

Lighten up folks. I know Gary did not shut down the contest, or anyone else. In fact Gary would probably be the first one to encourage more entries and competition. Gary is a very gifted craftsman that I, for one, admire and strive to learn from. If we all can’t have a little fun, then what’s the point?

I did not enter the contest to beat Gary or anyone else. I entered to challenge myself, to step out of the box. The only person we really ever compete against is ourselves, our own issues and limitations. The beauty of Lumberjocks, for me, is to be inspired and encouraged from a group of nice, like-minded people.

I apologize if I ruffled any feathers.

I’m sure everyone is teasing as well :)

I’m going to give Gary a run for my money with my little tray (haha) .. I got mine entered before the glitch occurred. Phew!!

I didn’t do it!

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. :-)

All kidding aside. It does look like more entries have been added after mine. I think mine was number 22
and I remember looking at the entries at number 23 and all was fine. Now it’s up to 25

Don’t know.
