Can you post for sale ads on LumberJocks? I’ve decided to sell my Ridgid bandsaw. It’s been on Craig’s List for a few days, but I’m not willing to let it go for a song and a dance. It’s an excellent tool, and I’m loathe to part with it, but I’ve gotten into a situation where I’m faced a tough decision.

It’s a Ridgid BS14002 with some modifications to fix the recent lack of quality control. The upper wheel was extremely out of balance—I balanced it by adding and removing some weight. I also added a piece of MDF to the underside of the stand to add stiffness and help reduce vibration. I also changed the v-belt to a size that can actually be tensioned.

The bandsaw goes for $400 new—is it too much to ask for $250 for it? And is $0.50/mi too much to deliver it? I wouldn’t drive it more than an hour or so from my Winston-Salem North Carolina home, so that I don’t have a ton of time tied up in delivering it… Of course, I could always arrange to ship it on a truck is someone wanted it that bad.

I hope that it goes to a good home….

Dan, as far as I’m concerned, if you don’t know exactly where to put something, then a blog is the place. There is a woodworking trade & swap forum that might get you more views, but you should get plenty attention until new blogs push you off the front page. Good luck on your sale.

As nailbanger2 indicated, there is a forum for this purpose. Click on the Forum tab, click on “show all forums”, scroll down and you will see a “Woodworking Trade and Swap” topic. You can list your item(s) there. Good luck.
