Topic tags/keywords: chisel

So like it says anyone know anything about crusader chisels? I bought a box at auction with one in it with the tag still on it.

As with the other portion of the topic thank you to all the vets out there and thanks for your service in allowing us the freedom that most of us take for granted. Oh a good Memorial Day to all not a happy one but a good one( it shouldn’t be a happy day).

Tell us what the tag said and we’ll tell you what we think of them. ;)

diverlloyd-
I’ve never heard of Crusader chisels…but I like the form of that one. I like socket chisels (tang chisels too).
And I like how the top of that chisel seems curved instead of all ‘angley’. No particular reason, but it just catches my eye and seems like it might be hand friendly. Any markings on the tool itself? Sharpening the tool and use will tell you if the steel is any good.

Yeah the top is rounded instead of beveled and it feels good in the hand. The socket is stamped with the crusader logo. I was hoping someone knew something about them I would like to have a matching set.

Crusader MAY be a brandname used by Great Neck.

OH! I see what you mean now! Yes, I had one listed (not sure if I have one in the big lot that I haven’t really sorted yet…) I think it just sold tonight…but it wasn’t a Crusader…..might have one in the big lot, I’ll have to check for you…. :D

Great Neck also used a “Corsair” brandname.

Thanks bandit….I’ll have to get a loupe out to determine which name is on those that I suspect to be one of the two…I know that at least two of them have a name in script that begins with a “C”.......
