Topic tags/keywords: plastic mallet hammer milk jug

I’ve been lurking for several weeks working my way back through the project pages, currently on page 1374. you’ve some talented woodworkers attending your site.
I’m a lumber jock like a guy who plays tennis once a week is a jock. I do have a table saw, a band saw, several planes and spokeshaves, some chisels and saws but a long way from an expert.
I wanted to sign up to ask where to find one of the projects I should have book marked but didn’t and now can’t find. It’s the one where on of your contributors made a mallet out of milk jugs. I’ve tried several searches of your site without luck.
Thanks

PS:It’s not evident on your signup page that java script must be enabled. In fact it appears to work but doesn’t.

I’ve been saving milk jugs but have too much going on right now to mess with it.

Thanks fellows but though related not what I’m looking for. The project page has a pic ofthe mallet made and the oven temp used to melt the jugs.

The video linked to by Waho6o9 above is the video – and it’s for Peter’s milk jug project which can be found here: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/131513

Oven temp is 350F.

If you read the other thread we linked to (http://lumberjocks.com/topics/81033), you will find another video for a carving mallet that includes pretty detailed instructions on the process as well as oven temp and finishing methods.

Cheers,
Brad

That’s the one I was looking for MrUnx. Thanks ever so much. It has the info I wanted to remember and videos don’t work so well on my 56K connection.
Thanks again,
Mike (who is not a lumber jock)
