What is the best finish for new cedar shingles? |

I’ve never used any finish on them. They age gracefully with no finish. I tried a waterproof sealer finish on one wall on a shed at my cabin, & it doesn’t look as good as the other walls.

I’ve also layed cedar shingles and we never put anything on them. They are naturally waterproof and will last for many years with a good underlayment and installed properly. They will age to a beautiful silver color. -- (You just have to please the man in the Mirror) Mike from Michigan - |
