Not really woodworking so I’ll ask here in the lounge. Building an island and will be laminating the top with Formica. Dual layer 3/4” MDF or something else?

You can get a prefab top any way you want. Above is a prefeb top.

Looks good GM, looks like solid top. I have a serious budgit problem so solid top is out of the question. Picked up a great, oversized cabinet at the Habitat store this morning for $40. Building the top with a breakfast bar at one end. Just want to make sure the MDF is the best choice for top substraight.
