An old timer showed me this years ago but just found a video, where as some people say, pictures are worth many words.

As Gary says in the video this method is for small tables, stools chairs and the like.

It really does not address larger tables or when your floors are uneven which can still affect the level. At that point you have to resort to other means such as shims, screw levelers, or even stick on cork or wool felt.

Ideally the tfurniture/table will be leveled as you go so that the finished project is perfectly level. However, I have had times when something just doesn’t work out right or moves later and the table becomes unlevel. If the table is only slightly out you can use a block plane to trim the long legs

Sometimes turning/repositioning how a furniture piece sits will be enough for the purpose but in allot of cases that is not practical to do. So, what’s the answer? Cross the bridge when you come to it, or just supply your furniture piece with screw levelers.
